Hollow Knight is one of the most proclaimed adventure games in the gaming community. During your journey you can pick up achievements to commemorate your progress and thus it is up to us to inform you all about the achievements you can get. Without further ado let’s get into the Hollow Knight Achievements.
Hollow Knight Base Game Achievements
Hollow Knight being such an enriching game provides players to feel good about themselves by awarding them various achievements after every hurdle or major milestones. The base game offers 52 achievements up for grabs so let’s take a look at them one by one.
Charmed
First up, we have charmed. To get this achievement, all you have to do is equip a charm. There are a total of 45 charms in the game, so it is pretty easy to come across them. If you want to get this achievement as early as possible, you can get it by buying a charm from the Dirtmouth Shop.
Enchanted
This achievement is an upgrade of the first one and is granted one you get at least half of the Hallownest’s charms. This means that you need to first need to acquire 20 charms in order to get this achievement.
Blessed
To get this achievement, you need to go one step above the previous achievements and gather all the charms available in the game. Even though it does say to gather all the charms, you only have to get 40 out of the 45 you can get. Afterwards, make you way to Salubra and purchase the Salubra’s Blessing item. This will give you the Blessed achievement.
Protected
Next up on our Hollow Knight Achievements List, we have Protected. You can get the protected achievement once you get four Mask Shards. You can find them scattered throughout the Hollow Knight World. However, if you are having no luck finding them, you can also buy them from the Sly in Dirtmouth. Getting Mask Shards will help you in your gameplay as well, as it increases your max health.
Masked
You get the masked achievement upon finding all of the 16 Masked Charms in the game.
Soulful
Soulfoul is granted once you obtain three soul fragments and use them to upgrade your soul.
Worldsoul
For the Worldsoul achievement, you need to get all the nine charms scattered throughout the game. You can find the nine charms at the following locations:
- You can purchase it from the Sly in Dirtmouth.
- You can also purchase the second one from the Sly in Dirtmouth if you have the Shopkeeper’s Key.
- You can find it in Greenpath.
- You can find it in Forgotten Crossroads.
- You can find it in Above King’s Station.
- You can find it in Deepnest.
- You can find it in Stag Nest.
- You get the penultimate one as a reward from the Seer for gathering 700 Essence.
- For the last one, you will have to drop 3000 Geo into the fountain in the Ancient Basin.
Connection
To get this achievement, you will have to unlock half of the Stag Stations in Hallownest. There are a total of eleven stag stations and you only have to unlock five to get this achievement.
Hope
As is the theme with these achievements, being rewarded upon fulling collecting and gathering items, the Hope achievement is granted once you collect all of the Stag Stations in Hallownest. You can find the stag stations at the following locations:
- Dirtmouth.
- Forgotten Crossroads.
- Greenpath.
- Queen’s Station, Fungal Wastes.
- Queen’s Gardens.
- City Storerooms, City of Tears.
- King’s Station, City of Tears.
- Resting Grounds.
- Distant Village, Deepnest.
- Hidden Station.
Once you get to the penultimate station, interact with the stag and he will guide you and take you to the last station.
Grubfriend
During your time in Hallownest, you will come across multiple grubs being trapped in glass jars. You can free them by breaking the jar which will allow them to go back to the grub father. To get the grubfriend achievement, you will have to free 23 of the grubs out of the total of 46.
Metamorphosis
For this achievement, you will have to go around Hallownest and rescue all of the total 46 imprisoned grubs.
Cartographer
As the name suggests, the achievement is granted to players who are able to obtain a map of each area. To get the map, you have to find Conifer the Cartographer in each area. As for the areas, there are a total of 12 of them, so you can see below which one you are missing:
- Fungal Wastes.
- Greenpath.
- Forgotten Crossroads.
- Crystal Peak.
- City of Tears.
- Ancient Basin.
- Deepnest.
- Fog Canyon.
- Queen’s Garden.
- Royal Waterways.
- Howling Cliffs.
- Kingdom’s Edge.
Attunement
Moving on our Hollow Knight Achievements list, we have the Attunement achievement. You can get this by gathering 600 essence which you can get by using the dream nail on Whispering roots and Dream enemies. Once you have the 600 essences, make your way to the Seer in the resting ground and you will get it.
Awakening
This is a tougher version of the achievement above. You can get this achievement by gathering 1800 essence which you can get by using the dream nail on Whispering roots and Dream enemies. Once you have the 1800 essences, make your way to the Seer in the resting ground and awaken the dream nail to get it.
Ascension
The Last essence related achievement is granted on collecting 2400 essence. Once you have it, go see the Seer for the last time and hear his final words of wisdom.
Keen Hunter
The Keen Hunter, as the name suggests, is given to players who are proficient in hunting and finding new enemies. This means that the achievement requires you to record all of the Hallownest’s creatures in the Hunter’s Journal which you can get from the Hunter in Greenpath.
There a total of 150 entries that you need to fill excluding the DLC enemies. To add a creature in the Journal, you will have to slay them. Once you slay them enough time, more information will become accessible.
True Hunter
The True Hunter achievement is granted to those that are able to obtain the Hunter’s Mark. To get the Hunter’s Mark, fill in every entry in the Hunter’s Journal and every section of information. Once you do that, make you way back to the Hunter in Greenpath and interact with him.
Solace
To get this achievement, you must first finish the Delicate Flower questline as it will grant you with an item needed to progress. Then make you way to the resting grounds and interact with the Grey Mourner. Afterwards, take the flower to the tombstone situated in the Queen’s Garden. Lastly make you way back to the Grey Mourner to get this achievement.
Warrior
This achievement is among the three achievements that are given upon completing the trials at the Colosseum of Fools. For this one, you have to complete the first trial.
Conqueror
To unlock this achievement, complete the second trial at the Colosseum of Fools.
Fool
For this achievement, complete the last trial of the Colosseum of Fools.
Falsehood
The achievement name will ring bells if you have played the game before. To get this achievement, you have to defeat the first boss that you will encounter in the game, the False Knight. Slaying him will give you this achievement.
Test of Resolve
This Hollow Knight Achievement is granted upon defeating the initial boss that stands at the entrance of Greenpath, the Hornet.
Proof of Resolve
The Proof of Resolve is a more satisfying version of the first achievement as it is granted upon defeating the newer and more challenging version of Hornet in Kingdom’s Edge.
Watcher
The Watcher Achievement is for those that are able to defeat Lurien. To do that, you must first make your way to Watcher’s Spire and find Lurien’s Physical body. Then use the dream nail to enter the dream world and fight Lurien in her dream form. Defeating her will reward you with this achievement.
Beast
The Best Achievement is granted to those that are able to defeat Herrah. To do that, you must first make your way to the Beast’s Den and the Herrah’s Physical body. Then use the dream nail to enter the dream world and fight Herrah in her dream form. Defeating her will reward you with this achievement.
Teacher
Similar to the previous two achievement, you gain this one from slaying Monomon, the teacher. Make your way to the Teacher’s Archive to Monomon’s Physical Body. Then use the dream nail to fight him in his dream form and defeat him for this achievement.
Witness
Once you have beaten Monomon. Make your way to the Blue Lake and interact with the Quirrel to unlock this achievement.
Passing the Age
Passing the Age is a game long achievement, that is granted once you complete the game while having done a certain act. The act is that you have to interact with the herald in the following seven locations:
- Ancient Basin.
- King’s Pass.
- Fungal Wastes.
- Kingdom’s Edge.
- Deepnest.
- Howling Cliffs.
- Fog Canyon.
Grand Performance
This along with the next two achievements are connected to the Grimm Troupe questline. This achievement can be obtained by eliminating the Troupe Leader, Grimm.
Ritual
To get this achievement, you must not banish the Troupe Leader Grimm during the questline and he will make an appearance later on as the Nightmare King. This will be a stronger and more difficult version of him. Defeating him will grant you the Ritual Achievement.
Banishment
This achievement can only be unlocked if you choose to forgo the Ritual achievement. This is because for this achievement, you will have to banish the Troupe Leader, Grimm by accepting Brumm request.
Nightmare’s End
To get this achievement, you must finish the Grimm Troupe questline.
Brotherhood
For this Hollow Knight Achievement, you must fend off the first boss-rush Pantheon in Godhome.
Inspiration
Next up, you have to clear all the second boss-rush Pantheon in Godhome.
Focus
For this one, you have to clear the third boss-rush Pantheon in Godhome.
Soul & Shade
You must complete the fourth boss-rush Pantheon in Godhome.
Embrace the Void
This achievement is granted upon completing the fifth and final boss-rush mode in Godhome. Not only do you have to clear the previous stages to get here, but you must also defeat all the 42 bosses and take your rightful place at the top to unlock this achievement.
Illumination
To get this, you will have to eliminate the Soul Master in the Soul Sanctum which will also reward you with a Desolate Dive Spell.
Respect
This achievement is granted upon defeating the Mantis Lords. There are one of the optional bosses in the game and can be founded in the Mantis Village in Deepnest. You will have to find them and defeat them in order to get this achievement.
Honor
For the Honor Achievement, you will have to defeat the Dung Defeater who can be found using the Royal Waterways in Isma’s Grove.
Release
To get this, make you way to the Ancient Basin to face off against the Broken Vessel. Here, you must defeat him to unlock this achievement.
Execution
Firstly, make your way to the Queen’s Garden. Once there, look for the Traitor Lord and defeat him in combat to get this achievement.
Rivalry
This is a achievement that will require you to start working from the start to ensure that things play out right. Hence your first step would be to free Zote in Greenpath.
Then you will run into him in Dirtmouth, City of Tears and Deepnest where you must interact him every time you come across him. This will make him make a cameo as a Bonus enemy during you first attempt at the Trial of the Warrior.
Neglect
This is another one of those achievements that can be hard to get during the first playthrough as it means that you won’t be able to the rivalry achievement. For this achievement, you must leave Zote out to die at the hands of Vengefly in Greenpath.
Obsession
For the Obsession achievement, make your way to the City of Tears and located the tower of love. Here, you will come across the hidden boss named the Collector. Defeating him will give you this achievement.
Peace
For this achievement, you will have to go an extra mile after the Broken Vessel Fight. This means that once you defeat the soul Vessel, you can find the Hidden Boss, the Lost Kin. You must fight him in the dream world and emerge victorious to get this achievement.
Strength
The next achievement on our Hollow Knight Achievement list is Strength. To unlock this, make your way to the area where you fought the False Knight and swing at the roof above. Then, use the dream nail on the boss’s body to awaken the Failed Champion. Defeating the Failed Champion will unlock this achievement.
Void
For this achievement, you will have to perform the behemoth task of unifying the abyss. To do that, find the King soul Charm pieces and then make your way to the lowest point in the Abyss. Continue through the maze until you come across a machine.
Then using your Awakened Dream nail, slam at it and then make your way out of the abyss, causing the Kingsoul to transform into a Void Heart. Doing so will unlock the void achievement.
Dark Romance
For this achievement, all you have to do is beat the Grey Prince Zote. Sounds easy, right? Well, no, as there a certain number of steps that you have to follow to get an encounter with him.
First, you have to find Bretta and make her relocate to Dirtmouth. Next, you will have to rescue Zote in Greenpath. Lastly, you must defeat Zote the Might in the Colosseum of Fools to progress further.
Once done with these steps, make your way to Bretta home and use your Dream nail on the Zote Statue in the basement to awaken the Grey Prince Zote. Now, comes the hard part of defeating him which will then unlock this achievement.
Mortality
To get the Mortality achievement, you must slay the Soul Tyrant. To awaken, the Soul Tyrant, use the Dream nail on the Soul Master’s corpse in the Soul Sanctum.
Purity
The Purity achievement is one that will lock you out of the next one and is a bittersweet one. For this, upgrade your nail to the max at the nailsmith by using the six pale ore items which are considered rare.
Then interact with the nailsmith who will request you to impale him with your nail. If you wish to do, it will cause him to die as a happy man and will grant you the Purity achievement.
Happy Couple
If you don’t attack the Nailsmith after upgrading your nail. You will leave him without a purpose causing him to make his way to the Nailmaster Hut in Greenway. Here, interact with him and you will get this achievement.
The Hollow Knight
For the Hollow Knight Achievement, you must complete the game and go with the first ending out of the three. To get that ending, you will have to eliminate the Hollow Knight without ever obtaining the Void Heart Charm.
Sealed Siblings
This achievement is granted upon choosing the second ending. You must first get the Void Heart Charm and then make your way to the Temple of Black Egg. Here, engage in an epic battle with the Hollow Knight. With the help of Hornet, you must emerge victorious to unlock this achievement.
Dream no More
This achievement is locked behind the third ending. After getting the Void Heat Charm, when you and Hornet are fight the Hollow Knight, use your Dream Nail on the boss which will make you to teleport to a new location.
In this location, you will come across a new boss, named Radiance. This is the final boss that you will have to defeat to get the third ending and the Dream no More achievement.
Memory
First, defeat all the Dreamers and the Dung Defender. Secondly, use your Dream nail on the Dung Defender’s corpse to awaken the White Defender. Defeat him in combat to unlock the Memory achievement.
Completion
As quite evident from the name, you will have to complete 100% of the game to get this achievement which will be satisfactory enough and a testament of your progress and resilience.
Speedrun 1
This achievement is granted to players who are able to get to the final boss, Hollow Knight and defeat him all within ten hours.
Speedrun 2
This achievement is granted to players who are able to get to the final boss, Hollow Knight and defeat him all within five hours.
Speed Completion
For this achievement, you will not only have to make your way to the final boss and defeat him but you also have to obtain 100% completion in the game all within 20 hours.
Steel Soul
The Steel Soul mode is unlocked after your first playthrough and is one of the most unforgiving game modes ever. In this mode, every time you die, you respawn from the start meaning there is no save point.
If you are able to beat a game while going death less, you unlock the Steel Soul achievement.
Steal Heart
The Steel Heart achievement is unlocked once you beat the game in Steel soul mode while simultaneously also get 100% completion in the game as well.
Pure Completion
Lastly, on our Hollow Knight Achievements guide, we have the Pure Completion Achievement. This is the hardest one to get in the game as it requires you to complete 112% of the game.
This means that you will have to get every charm, every upgrade, beat every trial and every boss along the rest to get it. This one isn’t for casual players but for players who are willing to put in multiple runs in and get everything.
