Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform: an overview
As is so often the case, Titanfall 2’s cross-platform functionality is mixed, and depends heavily on the particular device in question. There are three main functions that make up cross-platform functionality, which I’ll summarize beforehand. If this is old news to you, feel free to skip ahead.
The first feature that makes up the cross-platform trio is cross-play. This feature is the main one, and is typically what comes to mind when people hear the term “cross-platform”. It allows players to join the same multiplayer lobby despite being on different platforms, and is a feature that is seeing a steady increase in use as of late. For example, a game with cross-play functionality will allow players on Xbox, PC, and Playstation to connect to the same servers.

The second feature is cross-generation. Of the three, this feature is probably the most common, allowing players using different generations of the same console to connect. For example, a game that can be played on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X is considered to have cross-generation support.
The final feature of the cross-platform trio is cross-progression. This feature is most commonly used in MMO games, allowing players to play on one device, then pick up where they left off on another. This is done by linking player progression to an account, rather than a hard save file on a storage device. With these features summarized, let’s find out whether Titanfall 2 is cross-platform.
Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform?
Following the theme of cross-platform support, the answer depends on the platform. Some platforms offer a level of cross-platform functionality, while others have no support whatsoever. Here’s a breakdown of the support offered on each platform.
Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform on PC?
Titanfall 2 does not have any kind of cross-platform functionality for PC at the moment. This means that PC players won’t be able to connect to console lobbies, and vice-versa. If your buddies are on a different platform to PC, you won’t be able to squad up unless someone makes a switch.

Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform on Xbox?
Titanfall 2 does have some level of cross-platform functionality on Xbox consoles. It’s cross-generation, so you will be able to connect to players on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, whichever console you don’t have. However, that’s where the cross-platform functionality on Xbox platforms ends. You won’t be able to connect to other platforms, so you’re out of luck if your friends aren’t on Xbox.
Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform on Playstation?
Titanfall 2’s cross-platform functionality on Playstation is identical to what it is on Xbox. PS4 players will be able to connect to those on PS5 and vice-versa, but that’s all there is to it. There isn’t any more cross-platform functionality, so you can’t connect to other consoles or PC.
Is Titanfall 2 cross-platform? – summarized
That’s all there is to it. Unfortunately, Titanfall 2 doesn’t have much in the way of cross-platform functionality, but cross-generation support is better than nothing. That said, the developers of Titanfall 2 have implemented cross-platform functionality in other titles, and the presence of cross-generation support is a good sign. Maybe in future updates, there will be additional cross-platform features rolled out. Until then, all we can do is wait.
