NPC storylines are one of the cornerstones of the SoulsBorne games, and it’s just as true for Elden Ring. There’s a load of NPCs with an almost equally numerous amount of quests, some related to the main progression of the story, and others offering background lore.
For the trigger-happy, discovering these stories can be a little more challenging than for most. It’s possible to damage NPCs in Elden Ring, which understandably makes them not very interested in friendship. If you anger an NPC, you’ll be locked out of their storyline for the rest of the game.
That said, there is an item that can defuse the tension between you and an NPC, allowing you to speak with them again and progress their questline from where you left off. This item is the rare Celestial Dew.
Where to find Celestial Dew in Elden Ring
There are a total of 10 Celestial Dew that can be obtained in a single playthrough of Elden Ring. Many of these vials are hidden deep below the Lands Between, in the underground civilization of the Eternal City, and the nearby Ainsel River. There are also a few vials above ground, but these are few and far between. As long as you carefully ration them, you’ll be able to right a few wrongs in the early game. For more, you’ll need to look deeper.

Celestial Dew in the overworld
There are three vials of Celestial Dew that can be obtained in the overworld. You’ll need 5,000 Runes to purchase one from a merchant, the other two can be looted for free. Here’s where you can find them.
Celestial Dew in Liurnia of the Lakes

The first two vials of Celestial Dew can be found in Liurnia. The first location you are likely to encounter is Raya Lucaria Academy, home to a single vial on the other side of the south gate entrance. Head through the south gate, then immediately turn around and walk past the seal you came through. Follow this overgrown bridge right down to the end, fighting off the wolves as you go. Toward the end is a merchant, who has 3 Stonesword Keys and some lore items. Past him is the south gate, with a corpse on the left. On it is your first Celestial Dew, but you’ll need to fight a tough enemy for it once you get close.
The next location is much further north, inside Caria Manor. If you haven’t yet explored the manor, head inside through the main gate and proceed through the courtyard, then the manor itself, until you reach the Three Sisters. It’s fairly linear, so don’t worry about getting lost. If you’re struggling with the magical bombardment, ride diagonally until you reach the manor walls, then ride alongside the wall to the main entrance. The bombardment will stop when you get close.

Once at the Three Sisters area, ride south as if you are going to Seluvis’ Rise, but stop at the hilltop leading down to it. To your left should be a drop-down point, leading to the roof of a stone building. To the right is another series of drop-down points onto wooden ledges, leading to the manor’s ramparts. There’s a large hole in the middle with a ladder leading to a storeroom. Head down it and turn right. In front of you will be Pidia, a servant-turned-merchant of Caria Manor. He offers the second Celestial Dew for 5,000 Runes.
Celestial Dew in Leyndell

The third vial of Celestial Dew in the overworld can be found in the capital, Leyndell. It can be looted from a corpse in the Erdtree Sanctuary, which is next to the top of the ladder leading to the upper floor. Starting from the Erdtree Sanctuary Grace, turn right and head outside, then walk up the tree root to the next floor. Go outside onto the rampart, then turn left. Hop onto the ledge and walk up the roof to the window. Head to the other side for the Celestial Dew, and don’t forget to kick down the ladder. Once you’ve got it, you’ll need to venture below the Lands Between to obtain the remaining vials of Celestial Dew.
Celestial Dew in the underworld
The bulk of the vials of Celestial Dew is located deep beneath the earth, littered throughout the Eternal City and its surrounding areas. In total, you can find 7 vials of Celestial Dew in the two underground cities.
Celestial Dew in Uhl Palace Ruins

The first two vials of Celestial Dew are in Uhl Palace Ruins, the first area you’ll encounter if you come down through the Ainsel River Well elevator on the eastern side of Liurnia. The first Celestial Dew is on a corpse atop a ledge, overlooking the main portion of the ruins. Starting from the Ainsel River Depths Grace, go down to the river, then head left under the giant ants. Follow the tunnel down to the mounds of corpses, then head left and hop up into the next tunnel. Continue on past a giant ant queen and out onto a ledge. Turn left and drop down onto the ledge with the corpse, then loot your Celestial Dew.
The second vial of Celestial Dew is sold by a trader in the main part of Uhl Palace Ruins. Starting from the first Celestial Dew, drop down and head through the passage into a large cavern. Immediately head left, as loitering for long will see you shot by the cosmic demon on the other side of the cavern. Follow the path left until you reach a room with ants. Before entering, turn right and climb up the rocks for a Site of Grace. From here, walk along the rocks and jump onto the steps of the ruin, then rush right the way up to the palace. Inside is the merchant selling a vial of Celestial Dew for 7,500.
Celestial Dew in Nokron, Eternal City

After exploring the Uhl Palace Ruins, the next area to visit is Nokron. You’ll need to defeat Radahn and head down the massive hole in the ground caused by a meteorite. You’ll descend along rock, debris, and ruined buildings until you reach the Nokron, Eternal City Grace. Once here, follow the right path and kill the Mimic Tear boss, then follow the bridge almost to the very end. The Celestial Dew is down in the ruin, but jumping off the bridge will certainly kill you. Instead, turn left and jump onto the grassy area, then turn around and jump onto the underside of the bridge. From here, you’ll be able to jump into the ruin, where the Celestial Dew lies.
The second vial of Celestial Dew is near the Ancestral Woods Site of Grace. From here, jump onto the buildings and head down to the building overlooking the two Silver Tears, with a Rune Arc behind you. Rather than jumping down to them, turn right and jump onto the building’s ledge, then follow it around to the right. On this ledge is the second Celestial Dew.

The third and final Celestial Dew in Nokron is down on the main road. You’ll probably have to slay most of the Silver Tears on the road to pick it up without trouble, but they won’t pose much of a threat. That said, beware of the final Silver Tear, as it will turn into a giant. There are two other points of note along this road; at one end is a Site of Grace, and at the other is a chest beneath the giant skeleton. In it is the Fingerslayer Blade, which is required for Ranni’s questline.
Celestial Dew in Nokstella, Eternal City

The final two vials of Celestial Dew wait in Nokstella. To get here, you’ll need to have progressed Ranni’s questline up to the point where you give her the Fingerslayer Blade. After doing so, the seal on Renna’s Rise will be broken, allowing you to reach the portal to Nokstella. Once through the portal, follow the river down and left to reach Nokstella.
Starting from the Nokstella, Eternal City Grace, simply head north over the river and up to the other large building. Follow along the building until you see 3 snails guarding a body with a purple item. There is the first Celestial Dew of Nokstella.
From the same Grace, follow the river down and around the bend. Close to the end of the river is a small ruin, with 4 Silver Tears inside. Alongside them is the final Celestial Dew.
Using Celestial Dew

Celestial Dew can be used at the Church of Vows in Liurnia. You can take your Celestial Dews to the statue at the back of the Church and use them to absolve your sins. One Celestial Dew will make all NPCs forgive you, so you won’t spend all of them if you’ve annoyed half the world. You won’t be able to bring NPCs back from the dead, though. Some NPCs, like Blaidd, resurrect themselves if killed, so it’s easy to confuse their resurrection with the effects of Celestial Dew. Barring these very rare exceptions, dead NPCs remain dead, the Celestial Dew only stops them from hating you.
